There is an economical way to get the supplies you need, or to donate what you do not:.
 - The Habitat for Humanity ReStore...

The Habitat for Humanity NCR ReStore opened in November 1998, and is a retail outlet which sells donated and salvaged, new and used building materials and hardware.
Sales from the ReStore generate funds to support Habitat's home building programs, while reducing the amount of useable materials that are headed for overflowing landfills!

Donate and help Habitat keep good usable materials out of the landfill!
The ReStore accepts donations of clean, good, usable, new & used building materials, home renovation and home décor items from retailer and manufacturing businesses, contractors, renovators and the general public.
The ReStore diverts over 400 tonnes of waste from our local landfills each year. They sort and recycle all cardboard and unusable metal that comes in on otherwise good resalable product.

Are your Items too LARGE to get here?

Our Mandate - “A hand up, not a handout”:
Habitat for Humanity-National Capital Region (NCR) is a non-government, non-profit organization which builds simple, decent, affordable houses with working, low-income families, and volunteers from across the community.
Habitat for Humanity is funded through donations from volunteers, individuals, businesses, service clubs, foundations, manufacturers and distributors. Houses are built by volunteers, skilled trades people and journeymen who are caring individuals. Manufacturers and distributors in the construction industry donate their products to help build houses and reduce our costs.
Habitat for Humanity does not compete with other builders as Habitat services a clientele who could never afford to buy a house or qualify for a conventional mortgage.

Corporate Donations:
Industrial Commercial & Institutional waste in Ottawa is considered to be double that of residential waste? Donating materials to the ReStore, will help Habitat raise funds to support their home building programs, lower your disposal costs and keep usable products out of the landfill.

Contact the ReStore Manager for more information on how you can help Habitat and the environment (613) 744-7769 ext. 236.
